MSY moved into its new terminal off I-10 in Kenner, at 1 Terminal Drive. The airport's own website doesn't publish a cell phone waiting lot, but two of its official lots give you the first half hour free, which covers most pickups. Below are the airport's posted parking rates by facility, all from flymsy.com.

We checked flymsy.com's parking, directions, ground transportation and amenities pages and found no cell phone lot listed. Follow airport signage on the day.
Free alternative the airport does publish: the first half hour is free in the Short Term Garage and the Surface Lot, both next to the terminal ($3 per extra half hour).

Free shuttle 24/7 from Level 1 of the garage to the far curb outside Door 9 (Level 1 baggage claim). The operator guarantees a ride of 15 minutes or less, or a voucher for 50% off parking. Curbside bag check for American, Delta and United, 4am–4pm, at least 90 minutes before a domestic flight.

Reservations, veterans, RVs and special cases

Online reservations

You can reserve Short Term, Long Term, Surface Lot or Economy parking online. Reservations are non-refundable, can't be changed less than 24 hours ahead, and you must enter within 2 hours of your reservation time using the emailed QR code.

Disabled veterans

MSY runs a Disabled Veteran Parking Plan based on the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs F33 form. Out-of-state veterans need a signed F33. See the airport's amenities page for the details.

Tips

Picking someone up? Wait in the Surface Lot or the Short Term Garage and leave within 30 minutes to pay nothing.
All MSY lots are credit card only. Don't count on paying cash at the exit.
Trips of three days or more: the Economy Garage's $12 daily max is less than half the Short Term Garage's $26.
A reservation can't be cancelled, so only prepay once your dates are firm.
